Poly-dicyclopentadiene (PDCPD) is a new polymer, with excellent properties of high impact resistance, high heat deflection temperature, high chemical corrosion resistance and low density. Reaction Injection Moulding (RIM) system was used in the chemical process of PDCPD preparation, therefore lowering the manufacturing cost and enhancing production efficiency.
High-quality PDCPD product was obtained employing the new process tempered at a temperature value of 50-70℃. Moreover, domestic-made low purity dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) can be used as starting material to furnish PDCPD polymers through ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). The PDCPD product made in our new process has exhibited better performance compared to that of other foreign companies.
